Well, the only reason why Pikachu got slim (I’m assuming this is Ash’s Pikachu) is because he was contained in a Pokeball (dunno for how long) before they met. Afterwards though, Pikachu opted to never stay in the ball. Some episodes, you may see him walking along with the crew. Others, he be chillin on Ash’s head. But the fact is, he wasn’t stuck in the ball. He probably saw more exercise and battles than the others. That is how Chubbychu became Slimachu. does it answer the question? no, but I did give a reason. Via For my sanity's sake
